Each division has a number of teams which varies from year to year based on a team's record from the previous season.

More recently, the swimming & diving team, with athletes of different skill levels, has been one of the larger teams in the Montgomery County Public Schools.[3] A season consists of 2 Scrimmages (one at the beginning of the season and one before the divisional meet), 5 Dual Meets, 1 Divisional Meet, 1 Metros Meet, 1 Regional Meet, and 1 State Meet.[4] The Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swim Meet (commonly referred as Metros) is an invitational meet for swimming and diving teams from the D.C. area private schools and the Montgomery County Public Schools.

The 2011-2012 team had two State champions who were Junior Nationals level swimmers.[1][3][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
