Gainsborough Primary School is a coeducational community primary school, situated in the Hackney Wick area of the London Borough of Hackney, England.
It was opened in 1899 as an elementary school by the London School Board (its opening-year plaque is still displayed as a carving on the frontage facing the road) when it was called Berkshire Road School - its name was changed after the Second World War to Gainsborough Primary School. It still occupies its original three storey late Victorian buildings and is a major historic landmark in Hackney Wick - one of the very few old buildings to survive the wave of redevelopment of the 1950s and 60s. It was the closest operating school to the Olympic Park during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
