Gagnoa Department

Gagnoa Department is one of the fifty-eight departments of Côte d'Ivoire, in the Fromager Region.

The main city is Gagnoa. The city is located in the department to the southwest of the official capital Yamoussoukro. It is a market town, with a population of just over 100,000 (1995 data), making it the eighth largest city in the country. The population is predominantly from the Bété and Gagu ethnic groups.

As of October 2005, Gagnoa was the home of Bangladeshi UNOCI troops aiming to secure the proposed presidential elections in the country.

The city is served by Gagnoa Airport.

The city is the home of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gagnoa, with its cathedral at the Cathédrale Sainte-Anne.
