Gabriel Leung
Gabriel Matthew Leung, GBS (Chinese: 梁卓偉, born 1973 in Hong Kong) was recently appointed Dean of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, and Master of Chi Sun College at the HKU Jockey Club Student Village III.[1]
. He was the former Director of Office of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong from 2011-12. He served as the Under Secretary for Food and Health for York Chow from 2008-11.
Background
Leung studied at Wah Yan College in Hong Kong and later at Stonyhurst College in the United Kingdom. After that, he moved to Canada, where he received his medical degree from University of Western Ontario, master from Harvard University, and Ph.D. from University of Hong Kong. In 1999, Leung joined Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong, which now known as Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. He was promoted to regular professor in 2006.[2]
In 2008, Leung became the Under Secretary for Food and Health for York Chow. He was appointed as the next Director of Office of the Chief Executive after Raymond Tam in 2011.
