G magazine is an Australian consumer sustainability magazine, published in Sydney since November 2006. G magazine is a bi-monthly publication.
Emma Bowen is G magazine's editor, and Caitlin Howlett is the features and online writer. The publication was previously launched and published by Luna Media, and was purchased by Next Media (previously Wolseley Media) in January 2009.
Editorial advisors include Sir Richard Branson, British entrepreneur; Patrice Newell, former TV presenter turned biodynamic farmer and author; Nick Rowley, a former climate change advisor to British Prime Minister Tony Blair; Jon Dee, founder and chairman of the Australian advocacy organisation Do Something! and co-founder of Planet Ark; and Maria Atkinson, co-founder of the Green Building Council and global head of sustainability for Lend Lease.
Awards
At the 2008 Bell Awards for Publishing Excellence, held annually by the industry body Publishers Australia, the magazine's Internet content site, G-Online, won the trophy for Best Internet Site, G-Online. G magazine's previous editor, Sara Phillips, won the highly coveted Editor of the Year award, and her magazine also won Best Magazine Supplement for September 2008's The Green Book, and annual directory of sustainability products and services. The magazine's publisher, Luna Media, also picked up the inaugural Sustainability in Publishing award.
Also in 2008, Luna Media was also awarded both the inaugural Lord Mayor's Sustainability Award and Environmental Business Award at the City of Sydney Business Awards.
At the 2007 Bell Awards, G magazine was awarded Consumer Magazine of the Year (consumer category, print run over 30,000) and Best Magazine Launch at the Bell Awards. It was also highly commended in separate categories for its editorial, design, publishing and advertising sales. At the 2006 event, and Luna Media was named Best Small Publisher; while previous editor Sara Phillips won a 2006 Reuters/World Conservation Union Award for Excellence in Environmental Reporting for a cover story she wrote for COSMOS science magazine, also published by Luna Media and for which is the former deputy editor.
The first issue of G magazine went on sale in November 2006, and G-Online went live in September 2008. Since launch, G magazine has won a total of 14 awards.

G Magazine was first published by Luna Media until it was acquired by Nextmedia in 2009.
Nextmedia Pty Ltd (styled as nextmedia) is an Australian media company founded in 2007 and owned by Wolseley Private Equity. Situated in St Leonards, Next Media publishes Hyper, PC PowerPlay and a host of other youth, technology and entertainment related titles. The company was established in 2007 after acquiring a number of publishers.
