Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Günther Bleckmann (30 November 1914 – 4 June 1944) was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Günther Bleckmann was killed on 4 June 1944 over Stăniţa, Romania. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 9 June 1944 and was later promoted to Major der Reserve. During his career he was credited with 33 victories, all of them over the Eastern Front.
