The Future Institute of Engineering and Management (FIEM), Kolkata, India, was established in 2001. It is an affiliate institute of the West Bengal University of Technology and AICTE Approved (All India Council for Technical Education).The college was established in 2001. It is situated in Sonarpur Station Road, Kolkata, West Bengal, India - 700 150.This institute is ranked among the top five engineering colleges in West Bengal.

Departments and Faculty of Technology and Management

The institute offers one undergraduate course (B. Tech.) and three graduate courses MBA and MCA. All courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education AICTE, Government of India and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. Since its inception, it has been affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata.^[1]

Electronics and Communication Engineering

The HOD of this department is Mr Debashish Chakrabarty.

Computer Science and Engineering

The Head of Department is Tapas Roy.

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

The Head Of the Departmrnt is Mr. Jyotirmoy Gupta.

Library

The library contains a collection of books that can be borrowed and used as a reference material.It has a commendable collection of books,journals,magazines & newsletters.New titles are added monthly basis.The library subscribes to both national & international journals,including e-journals.

Training and Placement

The head of the department is PROF. BISWARUP CHATTERJEE. Some of the focused activities of the department are :

Impart communication skill development programme to students right from the first semester
Arranging Orientation programmes for first semester students and counseling them about the necessity of attending training session before campus selection
Company specific training on the format of the writing the resumes, body language and facing the interviews
Conducting Mock/Simulated exercises on continuous basis for Pre-final and Final Year students in Aptitude, Group Discussion, Technical and General Interview skills etc.
Organizing Industry-Institution interaction programmes to bridge the gap between company exceptions and academic learning

Training : The department aims to expose its students to training related to latest technologies in different areas besides organizing the placement activities. Internships for engineering students are organized in various reputed industries like All India Radio, Hindustan National Glass & Industries Ltd., India Foils Ltd., Centre of Electronics and Test Engineering (Govt. of India), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Indian Ordainance Factory, Indian Railways, Indian Statistical Institute, Cognizant Technologies etc.
