Fukche Advanced Landing Ground is one of the numerous Advanced Landing Grounds built in India during and after the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Location

It is located within 2.5 kilometers[1] of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China in the Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India, at position 32° 56' 15 North 79° 12' 48 East.

History

The airfield had been out of use after the 1962 Sino-Indian war. It was reopened on 4 November 2008 by the Indian Airforce, when an An-32 aircraft of the Indian Airforce successfully landed on the airfield.[2]

Facilities

The airfield is currently under refurbishment and currently has no equipment or facilities to accommodate large transport aircraft or fighter jets.[3]
