Fruticose lichen

A fruticose lichen is among the bushy types of lichens. It has a vertical growth pattern and thread-like weavings. They are found as mounds, or "tangles" attached to the substrate only at their bases, and usually with a circular cross-section.

Uses Along with some other lichens (generally mistaken for mosses), fruticose is used for many earthy perfume and incense. It has a light, woody scent good for mixing with other light aromas.

Identification It has a significant light, airy feel and distinctly small, tangles threads. It is ranges from a very light green to a brilliant lime colour.
