Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Fritz Amling (17 January 1916 – 6 March 1994) was a highly decorated Oberwachtmeister in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career, Fritz Amling was credited with the destruction of 42+ tanks and armoured vehicles.[Notes 1]
