Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Friedrich Adrario (29 November 1918 – 15 June 2011) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II and Generalmajor in the Bundesheer. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Adrario was captured by American troops in 1945. After the war he returned to his native Austria. In 1956 he joined the postwar Bundesheer retiring in 1983 as a General Major. He died in Vienna, Austria in June 2011.
