Derrick Coleman (born July 4, 1990), better known by his stage name Fredo Santana, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He is the older cousin of Chicago rapper Chief Keef[3] and is generally known amongst fans for his trap music as well as his facial tattoos including the cross on his forehead. He was co-CEO of Chief Keef's record label Glory Boyz Entertainment and has also started his own record label Savage Squad Records. His debut studio album Trappin' Ain't Dead was released on November 20, 2013 via Savage Squad.

Music career

Fredo's popularity increased when he was referred to by his fellow rapper Lil Reese several times on song lyrics such as, "Fredo In the Cut (That's a Scary Sight)," in Chief Keef's single "I Don't Like". It was the release of Fredo’s first mixtape, It’s A Scary Site in September 2012 that gave people a glimpse into the streets of Chicago regime. With songs such as "My Lil Niggas" featuring Chief Keef and Lil Reese and “Gang Bang”. He would go on to release music videos for almost every song from the mixtape.

Fredo's second mixtape, Fredo Kruger, was released on February 28, 2013 and featured production by 808 Mafia, Young Chop and Mike WiLL Made It, as well as guest appearances from Migos, Juelz Santana, Soulja Boy, Young Scooter, Fat Trel, Alley Boy, Lil Durk and Lil Reese among others. It would later be released for retail sale via iTunes on May 7, 2013.[4] On September 24, 2013, Fredo Santana made a cameo appearance in Drake's music video for, "Hold On, We're Going Home". He portrayed a bad guy kidnapping Drake's "girlfriend" in the music video.[5]

His debut album Trappin Ain't Dead was released on November 20, 2013.[6][7] The album featured guest appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Chief Keef, PeeWay Longway and other members of Glory Boyz Entertainment.[8] Scary Site 2 was released on December 20, 2013. The 16-track project comes with features from Lil Herb, RondoNumbaNine, Tadoe, Lil Mouse, Gino Marley, Ballout, SD and more.[9]

On February 27, 2014, Fredo Santana announced that he and Keef were going to release a collaboration album Blood Thicker Than Water.[10][11] On July 9, 2014, Fredo Santana revealed the tracklist for his upcoming album Walking Legend, which will feature Lil Durk, Lil Reese, Chief Keef, Childish Gambino and Tory Lanez, among others.[12]
