Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos or simply Fred (born 5 March 1993 in Belo Horizonte) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Shakhtar, in the Ukrainian Premier League.[1]
Shakhtar Donetsk
On June 26, 2013 Fred signed for Ukrainian league club Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth €15M.[2] He scored 2 goals in the first official game for Shakhtar at the Ukrainian Super Cup in 2013, helping them win 3-1.[3] During the Ukrainian crisis, Fred was amongst six Shakhtar Donetsk players who refused to return to Donetsk in July 2014 following a pre-season friendly against Olympique Lyonnais in France.[4] In November 2014 became one of the 100 most talented young football players according to Wonderkids 2014.[5]
