Franco Menichelli (born August 3, 1941) is an Italian former gymnast and Olympic champion. He competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, where he received bronze medals in floor exercise and team combined exercises, and at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where he received a gold medal in floor exercises, a silver medal in rings and a bronze medal in parallel bars.[1]

Biography

During the 1968 Olympics in Mexico, he broke his Achilles tendon during his floor exercises, landing after a vault. He took no further part in the sport.

Awards

Menichelli was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2003.
