Francisco Rodríguez Araya (born 8 February 1995) is a Swiss-Chilean footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League.[1] His older brothers are the Swiss international Ricardo Rodríguez and FC Saint Gallen winger Roberto Rodríguez.

Club career

Rodriguez is a youth exponent from FC Zurich. He made his Swiss Super League debut at 20 July 2014 in the derby against Grasshopper Club Zürich. He played the full game, which ended in a 1-0 win.[2]

International career

Rodriguez is a Swiss under-19 international, but by his parents' nationality, he can play for Chile or Spain. In August 18, 2014, Jorge Sampaoli called Rodriguez to play for Chile [3] to play two friendlies against Mexico and Haiti, and he is set to make his full international debut. But in August 21, he refused to play for Chile, saying that he still preferred to play for Switzerland U-21 national football team.
