Francis Valentino
Francis Valentino (born May 30, 1988 in Long Branch, NJ ) is an American Drummer who consistently performs, records and tours nationally & internationally with a variety of artists.
Musical career
In 2006, Francis joined New Jersey rock band Outside The Box which achieved local and regional notoriety by performing with or opening for acts such as Buddy Guy, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Gov't Mule, Blues Traveler, Counting Crows, Johnny Winter, Josh Kelley, Ryan Cabrera, Jesse Malin, Willie Nile, The Smithereens, James Otto and many more.. The band was also named the house band and The Stone Pony club in Asbury Park, NJ from 2010 and 2013. The band performed over 500 shows in the USA and Europe. In 2012, Outside the Box performed a rendition of Bruce Springsteen's "Kitty's Back" live on Sirus/XM's E Street Radio. The version is still in frequent rotation today on the channel's "Cover Me" segment. Outside The Box released one full-length album entitled "Bridge" which was produced by Jeff Kazee. Outside the Box disbanded in 2013.
In 2012, Francis recorded drums and percussion on 9 songs for Southside Johnny & The Poor Fools' "Songs From The Barn" which was released in early 2013. Songs From The Barn is Southside Johnny's first Americana release and was produced by Jeff Kazee. The Poor Fools' recording band featured Southside Johnny Lyon, Jeff Kazee, Soozie Tyrell, Tommy Byrnes, John Conte, Neal Pawley, Andy York and Francis Valentino. Francis occasionally performs live with Southside Johnny as well.
In 2013, Francis joined Reno, NV-based American Country band Hellbound Glory for Kid Rock's Rebel Soul Tour, which hit arenas in 28 U.S. cities. The tour featured Kid Rock, Buckcherry and Hellbound Glory. Francis has continuously toured with Hellbound Glory since joining the band. In March 2013, Francis performed with Hellbound Glory during a featured artist segment for CMT Edge live in Nashville, TN In June 2013, Hellbound Glory once again opened for Kid Rock at Burlington Steamboat Days Music Festival in Burlington, IA. In July 2013, Hellbound Glory opened for Hinder at The Red River Valley Fair in Fargo, ND. In August, 2013 Hellbound Glory joined Kid Rock and ZZ Top for two dates at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI Subsequent touring in 2013 included a co-headlined package with The Supersuckers. In 2014, Francis toured with Hellbound Glory on two nationwide tours. In March 2014, The band embarked on a U.S. tour in support of 10 Years (band) which visited 20 cities coast to coast. In June 2014, Hellbound Glory's "The Way Back Home Tour" made its way through the U.S. and finished in Reno, NV with back to back 4th of July shows at The Peppermill Resort & Casino.
