Francis L. Hoover (November 15, 1914 – March 19, 2002) was the eighth head football coach and seventh basketball coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers located in Boone, North Carolina.[1] While only coaching one football season, Hoover coached the men's basketball team for eleven seasons capturing two North State Conference championships.
