Frances White (born 1 November 1938, Leeds)[1] is a British actress, perhaps best known for her roles as Kate Hamilton in Crossroads and as Miss Flood in the BBC sitcom May to December.

She is very much involved with Ireland and has a lot of family living there.

Her other TV appearances have included Trevor's World of Sport; Dangerfield; A Very Peculiar Practice; as Cassandra, prophetess of Troy, in the Doctor Who story The Myth Makers; as Julia, daughter of Augustus, Emperor of Rome, in I, Claudius; and as Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, in Prince Regent. Her film credits included roles in The Pumpkin Eater (1964), Press for Time (1966) and Mary, Queen of Scots (1971). She plays Granny Pig on the children's animated series Peppa Pig.

She currently resides in a village just outside the Home Counties dormitory town of Berkhamsted, in the county of Hertfordshire, where she grows prize turnips.
