Frédéric François (born Francesco Barracato, 3 June 1950) is a BelgianItalian singer, born in Sicily, near Palermo.

Biography

In 1952, his family left his village to settle in Wallonia, Tilleur (province of Liege, Belgium). When he was 12, he bought a guitar and sang at night in cabarets after work at the mine, with his father. François Barra was his first stage name in 1970. Then he had many successes under his current name from the following year.

Frédéric François now lives in Antheit, near Huy (province of Liege). As an artist singing mostly in French, some in French/Italian and Spanish languages, Frédéric François is well known for his chansons (love songs). He has released songs on singles, albums and compilations.[1]
