Fort Walton Beach High School is a secondary school located in the center of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Mrs. Charlene Couvillion is the current principal. Placement classes have an open enrollment policy. The athletic program offers football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, softball, baseball, swimming, cross country, track, volleyball, girls and boys weightlifting. The Vikings have won two state championships in football, two state championships in girls basketball, and one state championship in boys weightlifting.

The fine arts department is known for its award-winning drama department. A few of the department's recent productions are The Sound of Music, Seussical the Musical, To Kill a Mockingbird, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Footloose, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Little Shop of Horrors. The band has won superior ratings in both marching and concert for the past 35 years. The chorus and art departments consistently win awards in local and state competitions. Voices of Valhalla, the school's elite choir, has traveled all over the state competing and winning superiors and also performing and serving in community locations such as nursing homes, yacht clubs, weddings, and military retirements. Their award-winning yearbook has set the standard for yearbooks in the region and the state for the past 10 years.

The school's Leadership Program is a community service group that takes on huge community projects each year. In addition, this group of students organize and produce the pep rallies and promote school pride and spirit throughout the year. The Minority Council is an organization for students of color that promotes school leadership and academic excellence. In addition to these two programs, there are over 30 clubs, representing the interests of a diverse student population.
