Matilda Fernández, stage name Fontaine La Rue (Los Angeles, December 2, 1897(or possibly 1879) – November 20, 1976) was a Mexican American silent film actress appearing in films from 1915 to 1929. Her career ended with the advent of talkies. Presumably her exotic sounding French name was used to get her classier roles in films. Notably she appeared in the now lost film, A Blind Bargain with Lon Chaney.
