Synopsis
Captain Crisanto Maristela is assigned to lead the 41st Infantry Battalion in Abra. There he meets Florida Ramos, a registered nurse who wins Crisanto’s affection and bears their daughter Flor. But Crisanto is married to Beth with whom he has a year old daughter Liza. Beth and Liza reside in Manila because Beth is tied up with family obligations and a business to attend to. For seven years, Crisanto maintains both families with only Florida knowing the truth. Crisanto is captured and tortured by the rebels almost killed by his own brother turned revolutionary. Flor witnesses her father’s abduction and suffers Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. And as Crisanto is rescued, Beth takes him back to Manila. Crisanto likewise suffers post-traumatic stress disorder. In a quest to save her daughter, Florida goes to Manila to plead with Crisanto to show himself to Flor. And as Florida discovers Crisanto’s condition, she must find a way to help Crisanto recover. Florida works as a maid in Crisanto’s household. Beth develops a dependence on Florida as she is reliable and caring especially to Liza. Florida’s guilt is mirrored by Beth’s kindness seeing how she ruined a happy family. In her efforts to see Crisanto cured, she makes amends by sharing Beth’s burdens. Beth asks that Florida take in her daughter with them and shows them nothing but sympathy. Liza’s presence helps speed up Flor’s recovery. And as she becomes well, Flor and Liza become the best of friends. And as the ugly truth blows up with the discovery of lies and deceit, who will Crisanto choose: The woman he married or the woman he loves?
