Flo Ankah is an actress[1] and filmmaker, also known as a chanteuse[2] under the mononym Floanne. She founded Simple Production in 2006 and resides in New York City.
Career
Actor
French actress Flo Ankah[3] has appeared in film (Listen Up Philip, Then She Found Me), and television (One Life to Live). She stars in the Broadway-style musical Loving the Silent Tears, directed by Vincent Paterson, alongside Jody Watley, Jon Secada, Liz Callaway, Debbie Gravitte. Her solo show Edith Piaf Alive is frequently at Joe's Pub/the Public Theater. She works as a voice artist for feature films (Magic in the Moonlight, My Old Lady, The Limits of Control) and for television commercials. She is a graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and studied improv comedy at the Magnet Theater.
Filmmaker
Flo Ankah is a director for commercial voice-over recordings. She makes award-winning art house films in collaboration.[4]

Singer
Floanne is a French songstress performing with Jazz musicians in the nightclub scene, including Joe's Pub, Symphony Space, the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. She has appeared solo at the Museum of Modern Art, Bryant Park and the New York Botanical Garden. Her interpretation of "Michelle" from The Beatles is the 75th release of The Beatles Complete on Ukulele.[9]
Dance
Ankah's choreography is drawn from her yoga practice, and integrates movement with the human voice as an instrument. She has been shown at Movement Research at the Judson Church, HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, and has performed for artists such as Mina Nishimura,[10][11] and Meredith Monk (at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum[12]). She graduated in modern dance from the Merce Cunningham Studio.
