Fleur de Lys is a mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, California.
Overview
Situated on five acres of land in Holmby Hills, the 45,000-square-foot property has twelve bedrooms, fifteen baths, a fifty-seat theater, a ballroom, a gym, a pool house, a 1,200-metre running track, a tennis court and a guest house.[1][2] There is a 200-yard driveway from the gate to the main house.[2][3]
The house was commissioned in 1996 and completed in 2002.[2] It was modelled after King Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles.[2] It was designed by architect Richardson Robertson III of Robertson Partners.[3]
Ownership
The original owners were David I. Saperstein and his wife Suzanne Saperstein.[2] However, when they divorced in 2004, his wife received the property in the settlement.[2][4] She put it on the market for £78 million in 2006.[2] The house reportedly sold to a French Billionaire for $102mil (paid in cash) in March 2014 making it the most expensive property ever sold in Los Angeles County, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Fleur de Lys has been resold since the March 2014 sale.
