Hooks Marsh Lake at Fishers Green

Fishers Green sits on the River Lea, and is part of River Lee Country Park. Pedestrian access to the site is by public footpath from Cheshunt railway station at the west,[1] and vehicular by Stubbins Hall Lane and Fishers Green Lane at the east.

At the park's Seventy Acres Lake is the National Bittern Information Point, which forms part of the Turnford and Cheshunt Pits SSSI, and two farms.[2]

The Old River Lea contains barbel and chub, and is one of only four rivers in the UK where barbel are an indigenous species.[3] In March 2012 an angler landed a 9 pounds 5 ounces (4.2 kg) chub from the River Lea, equaling the largest recorded from a British river.[4]
