Fiona Pitt-Kethley

Fiona Pitt-Kethley (21 November 1954- ) is a British poet, novelist, travel writer and journalist. She lived for many years in Hastings, East Sussex, and moved to Spain in 2002 with her husband, former British chess champion James Plaskett and their son, Alexander.[1]

She was educated at Chelsea School of Art and worked evenings as a theatre usherette at the Old Vic and National Theatre. Afterwards she worked as a teacher and film extra but was primarily a full-time writer. Her first major collection of poetry Sky Ray Lolly was published in 1986. Her work is characterised by sexual frankness and humour.

Fiona Pitt-Kethley has also worked as a freelance journalist and has written for The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Times, The Big Issue and others.
