Finiq (Albanian: Finiq or Finiqi, Greek: Φοινίκη, Finiki or Phoenice) is a village and municipality in southern Albania located 8 km from the Ionian Sea and 20 km north of the Greek border. It is part of Delvinë District and Vlorë County. The population at the 2011 census was 1,333.[1] Its inhabitants speak Greek[2] as their mother tongue. It is the center of the commune of Finiq, which comprises the villages Finiq, Buronje, Çlirim, Vrion, Karahaxhë, Bregas (Vromero) and Blerimas.[3] In antiquity, Phoenice was the political center of the Epirot Greek tribe of the Chaonians.
