Field galaxy
A field galaxy is a galaxy that does not belong to a larger cluster of galaxies and hence is gravitationally alone.
Most galaxies, roughly 80%, within 5Mpc of us exist in groups or clusters of galaxies.[1]
Most low-surface-brightness galaxies are field galaxies.[2]
