Fideo is the Spanish word for noodle. It is a type of pasta commonly used in soups. Fideo can be short (about 2–3 cm (0.79–1.18 in)) or long (varies). Asian noodles are also called "fideo."
There is a wide variety of recipes, in Spain and in Latin America.

Etymology
The word fideo is of Mozarabic and Arabic origins from Muslim-dominated areas of the Iberian Peninsula.
