Fernanda Alves
Fernanda Alves (born c. 1976) is a Portuguese beauty pageant contestant. Alves became the first delegate from her country to win a grand slam beauty pageant title. She won Miss International in 1996 in Kanazawa, Japan.[1]
Pageant career
Fernanda participated in several pageants, always achieving one of the top three positions. Some of her titles include Miss Teenage (South Africa, 1993), Miss Portugal/South Africa (March 1996) and Miss Portugal 2nd runner-up/princess (May 1996).
Personal life
She went on to marry self-made millionaire Matthias Schmelz in 1999 in Costa Rica. They settled in Portugal. They also have three children (Electra, Fernando & Aragon).
