Female dominant and male submissive

Female dominance, female domination, or femdom refers to BDSM relationships and BDSM scenes in which the dominant partner is female. Often the dominant woman may be referred to as a Dom, Domme /ˈdɒm/, Femdomme, Domina, or Dominatrix, or even sometimes Goddess, depending on context or her personal preference. A female dominant in a mistress/slave relationship is often termed a Mistress, not to be confused with the colloquial usage of mistress as a kept sexual partner without a similarly formalized power relationship. Other honorific titles of address may include: "Madame", "Miss", "Ma'am", "Maîtresse", "Herrin", "Doña", or "Lady" again depending on her personal preference.

Associated activities

Generally, activities consist of anything from role reversal to more extreme acts of BDSM such as torture.

Sexual activities can include strap-on dildo penetration (pegging) in which the dominant partner performs anal sex on the submissive partner, if male, or if the partner is female, either vaginal sex or anal sex, and facesitting or smothering, which both tend to focus on the submissive partner performing cunnilingus and/or anilingus on the dominant partner. The dominant female may engage in intercourse with other individuals and "force" the submissive partner to watch or felch, or "force" feminize (forced feminization) the male partner or "force" bisexuality, which are more commonly done by a top as a request by a male bottom.

Practices of domination common to many BDSM and other various sexual relationships are also prevalent, such as various forms of body worship, ass worship, cunnilingus; foot worship, trampling, tease and denial; corporal punishment including spanking, caning whipping; orgasm denial; cock and ball torture; and as well as Feminization, verbal humiliation, face slapping, hair pulling, dripping hot wax on the genitals, spitting, golden showers, menophilia (oral sex during menstruation), brown showers, cuckolding and "forced" chastity.

A 1985 study suggests that about 30% of participants in BDSM activities are females.[1][2] A 1995 study indicates that 89% of heterosexual females who are active in BDSM expressed a preference for a submissive-recipient role, also suggesting a preference for a dominant male, and 71% of heterosexual males preferred a dominant-initiator role.[3]

Chastity as a sexual fetish

In the course of female domination, it is common for a submissive man, (or occasionally a submissive woman), to be placed in a chastity device, i.e., expected to be celibate (orgasmically continent) for various prescribed lengths of time. Thus usually masturbation is not permitted.[4] Chastity is where the dominate Female partner maintains all control over a male's penis, including his erections and orgasms; whereas celibacy is continuous denial of orgasm, primarily intended to create a more devoted and selfless male towards his dominant Female partner.

A wide variety of "chastity devices" are currently (2014) for sale; in the most common type, the penis is enclosed so that it cannot become erect, although urination is possible.
