Feel (stylized as FEEL) is second bilingual studio album (and eleventh overall) by Japanese recording artist Namie Amuro, released on July 10, 2013 through Avex sub-label Dimension Point. The album was released nearly one year after her previous studio album, Uncontrolled (2012).
Promotion and release
The album was preceded by the release of her thirty-eighth single, "Big Boys Cry / Beautiful", on March 6, 2013. Both songs were used in commercials for Kose Esprique,[1] however, "Beautiful" was not included in the album. Two songs from the album, "Contrail" and "Can You Feel This Love", were used as theme songs for the television drama Soratobu Kouhou Shitsu and the news program Mezamashi TV, respectively. "Contrail" was released as Amuro's sixth digital single on May 19, 2013[2] and "Hands on Me" as Amuro's seventh digital single on July 3, 2013.[3] Both through Recochoku. In commercials for the album, the song "Alive" is used.
On 6 June 2013 on her official YouTube music videos included on DVD/Blu-ray were posted one per week.[4]
In support of the album, Amuro embarked on The Namie Amuro Feel Tour 2013,[5] which started on August 16, 2013, and finished on December 21, 2013.
Chart performance
Feel is Amuro's 11th album and 6th consecutive to debut at number one on the Oricon's weekly albums chart, with 247,000 copies. In the first day of release, the album sold 111,458 copies, surpassing Uncontrolled in terms of first day sales, and was the top selling album by a solo artist in 2013, also placing sixth on the Oricon Yearly Chart for 2013.
