Fazal Sheikh (born 1965 New York City) is an American photographer.

Life

He graduated from Princeton University in 1987.

He exhibited at the International Center of Photography,^[1] and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art,^[2] at Tate Modern, London; the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, Paris, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow.^[3]

Sheikh first came to prominence with his work in refugee camps in Kenya.^[4] Since then he has worked extensively in India, and most recently, as a project for the photography collective This Place, he used aerial photography to document Bedouin communities living in the desert.^[5]

He lives in Zurich, New York City, and Kenya.^[6]
