Faruk Çelik (b 1956 in Yusufeli, Turkey) is the Minister of Work and Social Security of Turkey and a Member of Parliament for Bursa of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

Previously he had been a teacher and a businessman. One of the leading members of the Justice and Development Party, he was made parliamentary group leader upon his election as an MP in 2002. He was made Minister of Work in 2007.

His daughter Zeynep Çelik has been transferred from Acıbadem School of Medicine which is a recently founded private medical school to Turkey's top ranked state owned medical school Hacettepe University Medical School. Transfers between medical schools are allowed but in order to be eligible for such transfer, transfer applicant's score in national university exam should exceed the base score (lowest score to get into that university) of that medical school. Zeynep Çelik's score was well below the Hacettepe University School of Medicine's base score, so for only that year this base score match rule has been changed to make Zeynep Çelik eligible for such a transfer. This transfer has been made possible by changing this rule. This rule has been changed only for that year by AKP ruled higher education council.[1][2]
