FIA Drivers' Categorisation (Platinum)
The FIA Drivers' Categorisation is a system created by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile that lists drivers on the basis of their achivements and performances. This categorization is used in sports car racing championships as FIA World Endurance Championship, United SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series, etc. It was merged from the FIA WEC and FIA GT3 lists. The initial categorisation is based on the driver's age and his career record.[1]
Requirements for Platinum categorization
Professional driver, who meets at least two of the following criteria:[1]
- Owner of the FIA Super Licence;
- 24 Hours of Le Mans winner in a professional category (LMP1 / LMGTE Pro);
- FIA World Endurance Championship winner in a professional category (LMP1 / LMGTE Pro);
- Works driver, paid by a car manufacturer, with results to match;
- Top-five finisher in the general classification in the FIA International F3000, CART/Champcar, IndyCar Series or GP2 Series; all FIA World Championships and Grand-Am Rolex Series (DP only);
- Top-three finisher in the general classification of an Formula Three international series (FIA F3, British/EuroF3 until 2011) or major international single-seater championship (FIA Formula Two Championship, World Series by Nissan/Formula Renault 3.5, etc.);
- Winner of the Porsche Supercup;
- Winner of the American Le Mans Series (P1 or GT only);
- Driver whose performances and achievements, despite not being covered by one of the definitions above, may be considered as Platinum by the FIA.

This list is accurate as of 10 April 2015 and includes 182 drivers, who hold the Platinum license.[2]
