—FGC line S5 is a line of the Metro del Vallès,[1] run by the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), in the province of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain.[2] The line, along with its sister line, line S55, are intended to service the Barcelona suburb of Sant Cugat, and the major university Universitat Autònoma during the work and school week.[3] The line only runs until nine in the morning and after seven at night, with some exceptions.[1] The S5 and S55 don't run on Saturdays and holidays.[3]
The line begins at Plaça Catalunya (Barcelona Metro) in the city of Barcelona and the terminates either at the Sant Cugat station in Sant Cugat del Vallès,[1] or in the city of Rubí.[3] Which one depends on the time of day. It runs through Barcelona metropolitan area fare zone 1 and zone 2,[2] and is part of the fare-integrated Autoritat del Transport Metropolità network centered on Barcelona.[4]
Stations
The S5 skips over several of the stations outside of Barcelona city limits that the Metro de Vallès lines S1 and S2 stop at, but inside city limits it stops at all the stations,[3] including Les Tres Torres, La Bonanova, and Sant Gervasi, which the S1 and S2 do not stop at.
