FC Nyva Ternopil (Ukrainian: ФК «Нива» Тернопіль) is a professional Ukrainian football club, playing in the city of Ternopil, the administrative center of Ternopil Oblast.
History
From 1992–2001, Nyva Ternopil played in the Ukrainian Premier League, after being initially chosen to participate for being one of the top 9 (of 11) Ukrainian teams from the West Division of the Soviet Second League in 1991. Nyva was founded in 1978 and initially it was based in the very small city of Pidhaytsi (known for the Battle of Podhajce). Then it moved to Berezhany in 1982, before finding as it seems its permanent place in Ternopil three years later. Nyva was relegated from the Persha Liha after the 2001–02 after they finished bottom (18th place). Since the 2002–03 season, the club is taking part in the Druha Liha A and promoted to Persha Liha after finishing champions in Group A of Druha Liha in 2008–2009 season.
Nyva Ternopil's best achievement in the Ukrainian Premier League was 7th place in (1997/98).
