International Turkmen-Turkish University Football Club (Ashgabat), usually referred to as HTTU, is a Turkmenistan professional football club based in Ashgabat.[1] It is the football team of the International Turkmen-Turkish University. They play in the top division of Turkmenistani football, the Turkmenistan Higher League. Their home stadium is the HTTU Stadium which can hold 1,000 people and is located on the University's grounds. The team consists of very young players who have helped the club to win the league three times in nine years.

History

On the results of the 2012 Ýokary Liga, the team took 3rd place.[2]

In 2013 HTTU early in the season won the Turkmenistan Super Cup, beating 1-1 (2-1 on penalties) champion of Turkmenistan FC Balkan.[3] In summer team participated in the tournament Eskişehir Cup 2013 and won in the final Eskisehirspor.[4] At the end of the season won the 2013 Ýokary Liga. By the end of the season, the second best scorer of the championship was a player of HTTU Süleýman Muhadow ( 23 goals ) and long-term captain Berdy Shamuradov left the club,[5] it six times became the best scorer of the tournament (2004–19, 2005–30, 2007–16, 2008–12, 2009–18, 2010 - 11 goals).

In 2014 from the club left the club head coach Yazguly Hodjageldiev, coach Gochguli Gochguliev, as well as many players going to the FC Altyn Asyr. Rovshen Meredov was appointed head coach. The season 2014 team started with a Turkmenistan Super Cup loss, in the final game players lost FC Ahal (4:2).[6] In May 2014 the players FC HTTU came in the final of the 2014 AFC President's Cup, scoring two wins in the qualifying tournament in Group B. Games were held in Philippines, in the first match, FC Balkan beat Tatung F.C. (2:0), the second Rimyongsu Sports Club (1:1) and third Ceres F.C. (2:1).[7] In a match of 17 round of 2014 Ýokary Liga, the team won the biggest victory in the history of the Ýokary Liga (11:0), and Pirmyrat Sultanow subdued record for the most goals scored by one player in a match (6 goals).[8] In the final stage of the 2014 AFC President's Cup win Manang Marshyangdi Club (3:1) and «Sri Lanka Air Force» (2:1). In the cup final win Rimyongsu Sports Club (2:1)[9] and won the trophy for the first time, as well Suleyman Muhadov been tournament MVP and top scorer (11 goals).[10]
