F1 Circus (エフワン サーカス) is a series of Formula One-based racing video games developed and published by Nichibutsu starting on the PC Engine in 1990. The word "circus" in the title was meant to be a mistranslation of the word "circuit" (or "circuits") because the pageantry of Formula One racing slightly resembles a circus. The series continued on the PC Engine, as well as having other titles on other home consoles, from the Famicom, Super Famicom to the Sega Mega Drive, Mega-CD and PlayStation platforms. Most titles are top-viewed, some are viewed in other ways from first-person to third-person view. The series was licensed to Fuji Television by FOCA.
