Synopsis
Cheng plays a former CID detective and Chan plays a thief, friend-turned-enemies who use video surveillance cameras to outwit each other.
Plot summary
CID Detective Szeto Shun (Kevin Cheng) becomes the prime suspect of an arson case when building surveillance cameras capture a culprit who looks identical to him. He pleads his innocence but no one believes him because of his uncanny resemblance and a same piece of clothing article to the main culprit. However, during trial he is found not guilty when he has a credible witness who backs up his alibi. When he returns to work he is asked by his supervisor to take a leave of absence, with suspicion still surrounding him he resigns from his position and later takes up a job as Head of Security at the swanky Y Suite Hotel. While tackling his new position at the hotel he is still solving the arson case with his former colleague CID Detective Scarlett Wong (Rosina Lin), whom seems to be the only one that believes his innocence.
Small time private investigator Jan Ng (Tavia Yeung) falls in love with Szeto Shun at first sight after seeing him take down a gun crazed criminal during a jewel heist in progress. When a client that looks identical to Shun shows up at her father's investigation firm she automatically assumes him to be Shun without asking his name. Since the client does not want to divulge his true identity he goes along with Jan thinking he is Shun. He hires her to trail a person that leads her entangled with the triads, but saves her in time and the two have a one night stand. Jan later runs into the real Shun and assumes him to be the same person she had spent the night with. When Shun tells her he has "never met her before" she thinks he is a scoundrel who takes advantage of females. Later while investigating another client's case at the Y Suite Hotel she finds out indeed that Shun is not the same person as her client. She promises to help Shun find her client and the two form a mentor-protege relationship.
Cheng Nik-hang (Ruco Chan) seems like the all around nice guy who is willing to help others in front of Shun but in fact he is a career criminal with a mysterious past that is connected to Shun and his family. He has a vindictive side and finds ways to take revenge on those who had wronged him in the past. He takes up a position as a security guard at the Y Suite Hotel to find the person who double-crossed him and his partner Tai Fu-lung (Tony Hung) during a botched jewel heist in the Philippines, that also left him disfigured. While helping Shun investigate the arson case, Nik-hang's tragic past is revealed. As he and Shun become closer friends, he starts to long for the family he should have had. He becomes torn on whether or not he should turn a new leaf in life or continue being a criminal.
