Exel Computer Systems

Exel Computer Systems is a UK-based company that develops integrated business solutions to manufacturing and industry. Founded in 1984 by company chairman Dr John Ellis, Exel remains a leading producer of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to an increasingly diverse customer base, across a number of industries worldwide. Exel is notable as a small ERP company that maintains success in a market dominated by firms such as Microsoft, SAP and Infor.

Exel provides a variety of solutions for the manufacturing, engineering and service sectors:-

EFACS E/8

EFACS E/8 is a browser based, platform and database independent, fully integrated ERP solution with multiple language capabilities. Its unique Variable Component Architecture, broad standard functionality, and rich Development Environment provides a precise fit to the requirements of discrete manufacturers, from SMEs to large Tier 1 companies. As such it is one of the longest established, UK originated ERP systems.

EFACS Enterprise is integrated with the Oracle range of products including Peoplesoft, Siebel, Weblogic and Oracle database. It runs on many platforms including Sun Solaris. This product is targeted at larger companies that require a comprehensive IT solution with a unified software base.

Eagle Field Service

Eagle Field Service is a mobile management solution providing real-time information and resources to field based engineers and delivered directly to their mobile or touch screen device. Designed to provide control and visibility, the core elements of the system include a Contact Management System, Warranty Service, Engineer Scheduling, Remote Engineer Applications and Document Management. Optional integrated modules are available for CRM, Stock Control, Purchasing and Finance.

Awards

Exel customer UAV Engines Limited won the Engineering Design and Development Category for its EFACS implementation in the Manufacturing Computer Solutions Manufacturing IT Awards 2008.[1]
