Everett Lewis Bradley (May 19, 1897 – July 25, 1969) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the pentathlon.
Biography
He competed for the United States in the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium in the pentathlon, where he won the silver medal.
He then returned to the University of Kansas and was voted College Athlete of the year. He started Bradley Oil and was a very successful geologist. He lost his wife Ruth Cranston Carter Bradley after the birth of his twin sons Richard and David Bradley. His oldest son Robert Bradley was 12 years old at the time. Everett later remarried Margaret Mathews and spent they raised the boys in Wichita, where he was a successful geologist until his death in 1969. His sons continued to operate the oil company and family business interests. During his life, he was active as a KU alumnus, helping to start the Kansas relays. He died in Wichita, Kansas.
