Evangelos Basiakos
Evangelos Basiakos (Greek: Ευάγγελος Μπασιάκος; born 1954 in Thebes, Greece)[1] is a Greek politician in the New Democracy party, Member of Parliament for Boetia.
He is a former Minister for Agriculture (23 September 2004-19 September 2007), and previously a Vice-Minister for Agriculture (3 December 1992-13 October 1993 and 9 March 2004-23 September 2004).[2][3] and a representative of the Assembly of the Council of Europe (1990-91) and of the OSCE (1996-2004 and after 2007).[1][3]
He was indicted by Parliament for breach of trust in 2010 for his role in the Vatopedi monastery scandal during his tenure as Minister for Agriculture.[2]
