Evan Michael O'Dorney (born 1993) was the winner of the 2007 Scripps National Spelling Bee,[1] winner of the 2011 Intel Science Talent Search,[2][3] four-time International Math Olympiad medalist, and three-time Putnam fellow.[4] O'Dorney attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2011. He started attending Harvard College in 2011 where he studies mathematics.[5] An interview O'Dorney did on CNN with Kiran Chetri after he won the Scripps Spelling Bee became a viral video.[6] During the interview, Chetri attempted to ask O'Dorney to spell the word Scombridae, after he had stated that his favorite food was tuna sandwich. O'Dorney then continuously asked for the clarification of the word and corrected Chetri's pronunciation of his name until giving the right response.
