Evaldo dos Santos Fabiano (born 18 March 1982 in Rio Piracicaba, Minas Gerais), known as simply Evaldo, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Portuguese club Gil Vicente F.C. as a left back.

Club career

Having started out professionally with Clube Atlético Paranaense and Democrata Futebol Clube,[1] Evaldo moved to Europe in 2003, as he was purchased by Futebol Clube do Porto in Portugal. He spent most of his only season with the club's reserves.

In the 2004 summer Evaldo was involved in a transfer that brought compatriot Pepe from Club Sport Marítimo, as he, Antonielton Ferreira and Tonel all went to Madeira. After a shaky start, he would be an undisputed starter in the following years.

Evaldo joined S.C. Braga in the 2008 summer, after four years in Madeira. With no competition in his position he only missed one league match in his first year, as the Minho side qualified once again for the UEFA Cup.

After helping Braga to its best-ever league finish in the 2009–10 campaign (second), Evaldo joined national giants Sporting Clube de Portugal in the summer of 2010, signing a four-year deal worth 3 million.[2] He made his official club debut on 14 August in a 0–1 away loss against F.C. Paços de Ferreira; on the 26th he scored a rare goal – and through a header – as the Lions defeated Brøndby IF 3–0 after losing 0–2 at home, thus qualifying for the Europa League's group stage.[3]

On 14 July 2012 Evaldo moved to La Liga club Deportivo de La Coruña, in a season-long loan.[4] He made his official debut for the Galicians on 20 August, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2–0 home win over CA Osasuna,[5] and appeared in 16 contests all competitions comprised during his spell as the campaign went on to end in relegation.
