Eva Ulrika Birgitta Wahlström (born 30 October 1980) is a Finnish boxer. Current undefeated as a professional, she is the most successful boxer from Finland to date, being ranked second best in Europe in 2004 and 2005. She also made an appearance as a personal trainer to contestants (spring 2006 and autumn 2007 seasons) in Finnish reality television series Suurin pudottaja, a Finnish version of The Biggest Loser, with swimmer Jani Sievinen.

Amateur career

Wahlström had a successful amateur career, she was placed second in European Championships twice, first in 2004 and again in 2005. Wahlström represented Loviisan Riento during her amateur career, She has trained boxing since around age of 15 or 16. She became interested in combat sports after meeting and dating a boy who competed in Muay Thai.[1]

Professional career

After her lengthy career as an amateur, Wahlström turned pro in 2010. In March, she won her professional debut by knockout.[2]

In 31 March 2012, Wahlström fought and won the vacant EBU Female Super-featherweight title against Agota Ilko of Hungary.[3]

During midsummer of 2012, Wahlström was struck with an pulmonary embolism, which required career-threatening medication.[4]

However in 2013, Wahlström eventually returned to ring and won her return match against Anna Sikora from Poland, who is the former world champion in kickboxing and a former European champion in Muay Thai.[5]
