Euryoryzomys nitidus, also known as the elegant oryzomys[2] or elegant rice rat,[1] is a rodent species in the genus Euryoryzomys of family Cricetidae. It was previously known as Oryzomys nitidus, but is not closely related to Oryzomys as that genus is now constructed. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil and Peru in lowland tropical rainforest as well as forest in the eastern foothills of the Andes, at elevations from 50 to 2000 m.[1]
