"Euro-IX is an association of European Internet Exchanges, promoting an open interchange of ideas and experiences, gained to mutual advantage of the membership, by offering fora, meetings, mailing lists and on-line resources."[1] It is a community driven association who mainly serves for European Internet exchange points and Internet Service Providers and the general "IP community" which includes politicians, regulators, vendors and other industry related sectors. Euro-IX is also part of the global IX-F Internet eXchange Federation.[2]

To better understand the importance of Internet Exchange Point, Euro-IX launched a competition and made a 5-minute video about what an IXP is and how peering works.[3]
