Euroleon nostras
Euroleon nostras is an antlion found over most of Europe.[1] Adults may reach up to 30 mm long, with a wingspan of 70 mm.[2] Larvae require dry sandy soil, close to vertical sandy ledges that help adults emerge. The adults need tall, isolated Scots pine trees nearby, where mating takes place.[2]
United Kingdom
E. nostras is an extremely rare insect in Britain,[3] known only from the Minsmere area of the Suffolk coast and Holkham National Nature Reserve in Norfolk.[4]
