Euphrates Volcano

The Euphrates Volcano (Arabic: بركان الفرات‎, burkān al-furāt) is a joint operations room that was established during the Syrian Civil War. The group seeks to "expel" the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant from Raqqa Governorate.^[1] The YPG has started to train FSA affiliated members of the group.^[5] Although the Raqqa Guardians Rebels and the Jihad in the Path of God Brigade were mentioned as being part of the operations room,^[2] they released statements indicating that they were not affiliated with it.^[6] The Jihad in the Path of God Brigade later joined the operations room.^[7]
